K/D Mainly white. Mainly straight-grained producing an attractive grain pattern on plain-sawn boards. Inexpensive and popular for all-purpose joinery.

Ash – English
W/E Prime K/D

Brownish-white after drying. In some logs, an irregular dark brown or black heartwood is found which can often enhance their value because of the decorative nature of the wood which is known as olive ash.

Basswood

An American Lime. Works easily, finishes smoothly and cleanly even in small sizes. This makes it ideal for high-class mouldings, turnery and carving, replacing Jelutong in many applications.

Cherry – American

Sizes: 25, 32, 38, 50, 63, 75mmA popular timber; decorative and fashionable. Widely used for kitchens, cabinets and bespoke furniture. Pink to reddish-brown. Please note: while American grading regulations allow sapwood, we stock a high quality 90/80 grade.

Chestnut – Sweet
W/E PRIME KD

Yellowish-brown heartwood. Easy to work with excellent finish. A durable joinery timber.Not as hard as Oak. Takes nails, glue, stains and polish.

A timber of good strength and durability, it is available in merchantable and clear grades. Works well in both internal and external joinery applications. Dimension stock, verticle grain, mast stock etc. also available.

Sizes: 25, 32, 38, 50, 63, 75, 100An inexpensive utility hardwood. Strong and durable, it machines and turns well, takes glues/stains well and is often used to give a Mahogany or Oak effect.

Iroko

A strong and very durable timber, golden yellow to brown in colour, attractive in appearance. Sourced to obtain milder stock, it is one of the most popular and versatile timbers. Used extensively in external and internal joinery, furniture making, building and construction.

Ex 32 x 150mm PAR half-lapped
25, 38, 50, 63, 75, 100mmThis moderately durable half-lapped stock, often held in long lengths, allows for ease of laying on lorry and trailer floors. A D50 timber, it is also used in heavy construction and building.

Meranti – Dark Red

Used extensively for joinery, windows and conservatory work. Easy to machine but with little character. Light red to dark red in colour and moderately durable. Often available in long lengths.
