Brownish-white after drying. In some logs, an irregular dark brown or black heartwood is found which can often enhance their value because of the decorative nature of the wood which is known as olive ash.

Yellowish-brown heartwood. Easy to work with excellent finish. A durable joinery timber.Not as hard as Oak. Takes nails, glue, stains and polish.

An inexpensive utility hardwood. Strong and durable, it machines and turns well, takes glues/stains well and is often used to give a Mahogany or Oak effect.
